Wedding Hair Broken Arrow OK Bridal Tips
How can I make my hair shiny and vibrant before my wedding?
Start planning for healthy hair several months before your wedding day. If your hair is damaged, frizzy, or lacking shine, begin taking steps to restore its health and luster. One of the stylists at our hair salon in Broken Arrow can help you choose hair care products that will target specifically what your hair needs. Deep conditioning shampoos and conditioners and well as leave in conditioning products and serums can all have a positive effect in nourishing the health and beauty of your hair so that it will look amazing for your wedding photos. If your hair has uncontrollable frizz or unwanted curl, a keratin treatment can greatly enhance the texture. A keratin treatment will smooth frizz and keep your hair soft and silky for up to 2 months. You can plan for a keratin treatment at our salon few weeks before your wedding day.
Also, plan a Redken Chemistry Shot treatment at our hair salon approximately two weeks before your wedding day to add shine and manageability to your hair. Chemistry Shots are intense, deep conditioning treatments that can help repair damage, lock in moisture, add shine, and strengthen your hair. A Redken Shades EQ Gloss treatment can also add beautiful shine to your hair, and can be scheduled two weeks in advance of the big day.
Should I wash my hair before my wedding hair appointment?
This depends largely on your hair type and the type of style that our bridal hair stylists will be creating for you. If your hair is normal, and if you are planning for an updo style, then it is generally best to wash your hair the night before your wedding day instead of the day of. The natural oils in your hair will allow it to conform more easily to an updo. If you are going for long lengthy layers, you may be able to shampoo your hair on the morning of the wedding instead of the evening before. When you arrive at our hair salon for your initial bridal appointment, we will examine your hair type and give you specific instructions for hair care on the day of your wedding in order to allow for the best results.
Should I schedule a spray tan before my wedding?
If you plan to get a tan for your wedding, we suggest that you do a trial run at least 2 or 3 weeks before your wedding day. Just like a trial run for wedding hair and makeup, scheduling a spray tan trial run will allow you to see the results in advance so that adjustments can be made if needed. If you are also planning for waxing services such as a leg wax, eyebrow wax, etc., then schedule your waxing appointments BEFORE your tan. You should also schedule appointments for a bridal manicure and pedicure before your tanning appointment, too.
Schedule your final tanning appointment about 2 days before your wedding day. This will allow your tan to fully develop and if there are any areas that need to be retouched, you will have time for this without being stressed before the big day. For the very best results, ALWAYS exfoliate your skin very well before your tanning appointment.
When should I schedule waxing appointments?
Waxing is the best option for amazingly smooth skin that lasts for weeks. Shaving is time consuming and a daily chore, but a waxing service from our salon will leave your skin smooth for your honeymoon and the days following with no need for the razor. Our salon offers a full menu of waxing services for brides, from eyebrow waxing to Brazilian Wax. We recommend scheduling all of your waxing services at least a week in advance of your wedding day.
For best results, we suggest at least ¼ to ½ inches of hair growth before your appointment. This allows for better results. After your appointment, you will need to avoid exposure to the sun, swimming pools and using tanning beds for at least 24 hours.
If you plan to receive a spray tan, schedule your spray tan appointment AFTER your waxing appointment to avoid having any of the tan removed by the waxing service.
